Avatar Assignment
1. Portrait Illustrator Maker:
I really like this avatar program for multiple reasons, but the main one is that there are many different aspects of the avatar that can be changed. For example, after choosing from the many different characteristics, one can modify the distances between the various facial features, as well as changing the colour to any of a broad range of colours. However, the avatars it creates are too small to be used in any sort of large scale setting.

2. DobbleMe:
The choices for this program are very limited, along with the colours. Also, all the eye choices and defensive stance of the avatar work together to form a rather terrifying creation which seems to stare into your soul with eyes that tell of ancient horrors and unspeakable wrongs. This is probably my least favourite avatar-creation program.
3. Planet Creation:
I love the creative choices of hair and other facial features, such as an option for in-ear Bluetooth attachment and something vaguely resembling what the superhero 'Cyclops' wears to prevent his eye laser beams from demolishing every structure around him. However, the over-simplified graphics and small selection for colours makes this program okay, but not great.

4. Avatar Face Maker|Manga:
I really like this program, mainly because of its good graphics and the realistic sheen on the avatar’s hair. Though the selection of colours and placement option are rather limited, the choices themselves are very good. For these reasons, this program is my favourite.

5. Voki:
This avatar program is okay, though its main purpose is to add voices to the characters. Since I cannot add voices to my avatars a
website setting, this program’s limited selection and poor choices are not ideal. It seems to be designed for sending to people and playing games with. Therefore, I am not a huge fan of this site.

6. Create your own superhero | Marvel:
I very much like this program, especially since it has so many categories, giving creators an almost overwhelming number of options. Of all the programs, I had the most fun with this one. Though there are few hair choices, glove choices, etc., there are many categories such as upper body – inner clothes, upper body – outer clothes, lower body – inner clothes, etc.

My favourite program, for just creating avatars, is probably the Manga Face Maker. I really like the many options, and adorable pictures. There were many skin and hair colour options, along with headwear and earings. This program seems mainly built for creating female avatars, but it can be used to make males, as I have attempted. I really like the glossy, pretty colours in the program too.
